Muslims in Borno offer prayers for Buhari

Maiduguri, Feb. 10, 2017 (TNE) Prayers were offered in no fewer than 350 mosques on Friday across Borno for the speedy recovery of President Muhammadu Buhari, who is abroad on vacation.

Borno Governor Kashim Shettima had directed Muslims to offer the special prayers led by the Chief Imam of each mosque in the state

”Chief Imams in about 350 Jumma’at Mosques in Maiduguri, Jere, Biu and other parts of the state on Friday led thousands of worshipers to offer special prayers for the speedy and full recovery of President Muhammadu Buhari following request by Governor Kashim Shettima.

”The prayers were offered in appreciation of President Buhari’s commitment to the fight against the Boko Haram insurgency which resulted in the liberation of many communities and relative peace now being enjoyed by residents across the state,” according to the statement

The Special Adviser to the governor on Communication and Strategy, Malam Isa Gusau issued the statement. (TNE)
