Yenagoa, Feb. 10, 2017 (TNE) The acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, on Friday restated commitment of the Federal Government in transforming oil producing communities if peace was given a chance.
Speaking at the stakeholders meeting in Yenagoa, Osinbajo appealed to the people of the region to embrace the ongoing peace effort to enable the government to realise its aim.
He noted that the region was crucial to the development plans of government
Speaking earlier, the governor, Seriake Dickson, noted that dialogue and consultations remained the most effective antidote to the Niger Delta crisis rather than a military option.
He called on the Federal Government to tackle the development challenges facing the state where costs of infrastructure provision have remained prohibitive due to its terrain. (TNE)
