Maiduguri, Feb. 24, 2017(TNE): The Royal British Army on Friday expressed its readiness to assist the Nigerian military in capacity building to bring an end to insurgency in the North East.
The Defence Adviser to the U.K in Nigeria, Brig.-Gen. Charles Calder, made this known when he called on the acting General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division Nigerian Army, Brig.-Gen. Victor Ezugwu in Maiduguri.
Lt.-Col. Kingsley Samuel, the Deputy Director, Army Public Relations Department, stated this in a statement in Maiduguri.
Samuel quoted Charles as saying that the U.K. Government would significantly expand its training assistance to all Nigerian Army training institutions.
Responding, Ezugwu commended the U.K. for past assistance and training rendered by the British Military Assistance Training Team (BMATT) geared towards capacity-building and development of personnel of the Division.(TNE)
