Women leader tasks youths on morality during Lent

Enugu, March 2, 2017 (TNE): The Catholic Women Organisation in Nsukka diocese, Enugu State, has advised youths to be of good behaviour during the Lenten period which began on Wednesday.

Speaking in Enugu on Thursday, the President of the organisation, Prof. Elizabeth Ngwu, said it would organise a workshop to keep the youth busy during the 40-day period.

She said the five-day workshop would be used to re-orientate them for a more responsible behaviour. The workshop is also expected to discuss other issues that could re-direct the youth to be more responsible.

Ngwu restated that as leaders of the country, ”If the youth of this nation say no to any bad thing, the nation will be better.

”We have to talk about our future; the future of Nigeria is in the hands of the youth, and the youth have to stand up to face their responsibility,” she remarked.

The women leader called on the young ones to show commitment at all times, while Chritians should devote time to be more steadfast during Lenten.

Lent is a season of the Christian year when the faithful focus on simple living, prayer and fasting in order to grow closer to God. It begins with the Ash Wednesday and ends with Easter Sunday. (TNE)
