Kogi to employ more health professionals, says Commissioner

Lokoja, March 3, 2017 (TNE): The Kogi Government is to employ 52 medical consultants to boost healthcare delivery in the state, the Commissioner for Health, Dr Saka Audu, has said.

Audu said in Lokoja that the state government would employ other health professionals such as nurses, pharmacists, dental technicians, nutritionists, record officers, resident doctors and house officers.

He said government had approved N2.144 billion to cover the payment of salary and allowances of those to be engaged.

According to him, a situation where hospitals are built without adequate manpower and equipment, will no longer be accepted.

”The manpower gap in some hospitals is perilous, and to this administration, the health of every citizen of Kogi is premium,” he remarked.(TNE)
