Abuja, March 13, 2017 (TNE): In compliance with Section 145 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), President Muhammadu Buhari has formally transmitted letters to the Senate and the House of Representatives, intimating the National Assembly that ”I have resumed my functions as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with effect from Monday, March 13, 2017, after my vacation.”
A statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, made this known on Monday in Abuja.
Following his 51-day medical vacation in London, the President arrived in the country on Friday, and signaled intention to resume work today.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo acted while Buhari was away, in accordance with the constitution. (TNE)
