Gov Ajimobi ready to replicate Songhai Farm model in Oyo State

Ibadan, March 18, 2017: (TNE) To turn around the agricultural sector in Oyo State, Gov.  Abiola Ajimobi says he will  replicate the Benin Republic-based Songhai Integrated Farm model  in the state.
The governor said this while addressing  newsmen  in Ibadan on Saturday  after returning  from a  tour of Songhai Farms.
“Agriculture has become the fulcrum of other progressive developments with substantial value-chain addition, hence the arrangement with Songhai farms.
“I am concerned about leaving a legacy in the state that posterity will reckon with. Plans are now in motion to start implementing this blueprint,” he said.
The  Songhai  Farms, located on a 2,000-hectre land,  is an  agricultural initiative which involves the entire value-addition chain from production to processing.
The project also includes a research ground and centre for agro-skill acquisition for youths who want to venture into  agriculture.
Songhai farms also deals in animal production and husbandry as well as  manufacturing  of  food and juice products.(TNE)
