Abuja, Dec. 6, 2017 (TNE) President Muhammadu Buhari has assented to three bills – the Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy (Establishment) Bill; the Air Force Institute of Technology of Nigeria (Establishment) Bill 2017 and the National Intelligence Agency Pensions (Establishment) Bill, 2017.
The president’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, in a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday, said the president also assented to the bill on the Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy stipulates that the college should be sited in Enugu.
According to him, the college is to provide courses of instruction leading to the award of degrees, diplomas and certificates in dental technology, dental therapy and related courses.
He said that the bill on the Air Force Institute of Technology of Nigeria indicates that the Institute will be situated in Kaduna.
He said the institute will provide technical training to the personnel of the Nigerian Air Force and other services of the Nigerian Armed Forces, Nigerians as well as nationals of other African countries.
The presidential aide stated that the National Intelligence Agency Pensions (Establishment) Bill, 2017, is to administer the pension’s scheme for personnel of the agency.
This is sequel to the exit of the agency from the application of the Contributory Pension’s Scheme under the Pension’s Reform Act, 2004.
